Doing something that i would love to do, and learn everyday from it. If I stop learning or gaining knowledge it will become suffocating for me. I would like to work in a field where I can add value to my life everyday, and do something really fruitful. There are a few fields of work which I have gained interest in, but at the same time I don’t want to settle for a particular field now. I want to explore more, and keep my options available.
Back in my school days i was chosen to be the Captain(Headboy) of the school. I received a captain’s badge for my tenure. It is one of my most prized possessions. It is still safely kept in my pencil box.
I have a wide range of hobbies and these keep on changing from time to time. Currently, I enjoy listening to music, reading news articles(I really like to keep myself updated with whatever is going on in the world), watching web series and movies.
I am in the second year of my college (UG), and in the past few years I have gained a good perspective of different careers and how one can prepare for those. Having cracked JEE myself I can guide other students who are aspiring to get into a top engineering college. Even in my college years so far, I have been in contact with many seniors in different fields and I will be able to guide students based on this experience of mine.
I have been inspired by a lot of people at different points in my life so far. Some particular character traits of these people have motivated me to become a better human being and instill those traits in me. People like Steve Jobs, Barack Obama, Ratan Tata have inspired me.
I recently watched Tenet. This is a movie by Christopher Nolan where he has twisted time and played with entropy in a way that is truly ingenious. I am a huge Christopher Nolan fan and this man has astounded me in every movie of his. This is a must watch for the enthusiasts.
“ You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.”- Steve Jobs.
Bragging. I am really put off when I find a person bragging about something. I feel if you are good at something, have excelled in a certain field or are well endowed then you should try to be humble about it and not boast about it in a way to belittle others.
Ambivert, nonchalant and a dreamer.
Firstly, I feel from an early age students(especially in India) are constantly told to follow or aspire to become a selected set of professions. They are not motivated to try and explore different fields and find what they are really interested in.
Secondly, if a student chooses to pursue an unconventional field then there are enough people who would try to demotivate them. Also these people who choose an unconventional career path don’t get the required guidance or support.
The third biggest difficulty according to me is the huge pay difference among various careers. Some people just take up a career because it pays well and not because they are interested in it. I know that pay differences would exist and that’s how an economy runs. But I feel if the difference in pay is minimised then students would have more options to choose from and they will be motivated to pursue a field of their interest.
Gender inequality and discrimination. Though people say that we live in a modern era, still people are discriminated against based on their gender. Women, non-binary people are still not provided enough opportunities. And this discrimantion is more prevalent in rural areas. I really wish I could change this.
People running after money and not trying to figure out what they really want to do in life. Most people are busy living the life of others. Of Course exceptions exist and money does matter. But you have this one life, why waste it chasing other’s dreams.
The huge economic difference between the rich class of people and the not so well to do class. I wish I could minimize the difference. As we know and have seen, the economic difference is very much profound in India and other developing and underdeveloped countries.
